There are two primary energies in the Universe: Fear and love. Both energies are hard at work at this moment in time, and it’s a challenge to keep our emotions in balance and in check
We might think that the opposite of Love is hate or anger. But the ‘shadow’ side of these emotions is actually rooted in fear. Fear is restrictive and limiting, and gives rise to emotions like envy, bitterness, resentment and anger. And when you work with the energy of love, you tune into ease, happiness and an effortless expansion of joy within ones self.

Fear can motivate us and help us expand. By acting as a recognisable trigger, it highlights where we don’t want to be. It’s also the innate threat response, which keeps us from danger, sharpens our senses and stimulates a fight-or-flight response. We can use fear to motivate us to choose infinite abundance, rather than a perceived lack !

Remember, our lessons come in darker times, where once they are over we can be free and light!

WHY WE SHOULD SMUDGE

Smudging is the burning of herbs with intent to manifest change in emotions, thoughts, surroundings and reality. It’s a practice that connects cultures, religions and belief systems throughout history for cleansing, healing and spiritual purposes (and it’s earliest use can be traced to ancient Egypt!).

Homes and bodies are made of physical matter which vibrate with subtle, invisible energy. Cleansing a space, or our bodies, with smudging helps us to clear away all the emotional and mental ‘garbage’ that may have gathered over years.

It’s helpful to think of smudging as an energetic ‘spring-clean’ and the act empowers you to take responsibility for your wellbeing.

The effects of smudging can be surprisingly swift and dramatic – where people report instant effects which range from increased happiness and peace, along with greater success.

The ritual itself can help you release stress, attract love, soothe anxiety or give you energy. From rosemary and lavender, to Impepho (African Sage) and cedar, different herbs can be used for different purposes.

How to smudge:

TOP TIPS

Prepare the area – ensure it is well ventilated, your smudge stick is insulated and your space is free of clutter
Focus on your intent – hold it clearly in your mind before lighting it with a candle flame
Smudge yourself before you smudge the space – fan the smoke with your hands or a feather from top to toe
Bottom to top – when smudging a space, work from the lowest level of your house and move upwards (remember to fan smoke into corners and behind doors)
Smudge yourself again one final time

Remember you can cleanse objects by fanning smoke over them and don’t smudge near people with respiratory problems such as asthma or pregnant women.

3 ways to attract abundant energy

There’s no doubt that the energy out there seems fear-driven, but we CAN control our thoughts and choose where to invest our energy. That means that rather than focusing on the things we can’t control, or tapping into what’s missing, we can actively dedicate energy and time to creating positivity in our personal lives.

Remember the phrase: where attention goes…energy flows? I invite you to think about what it is that you desire, and what you’d like to create for yourself this year and in the future. To get you started, you might try to focus on:

Writing down your goals helps set you up to achieve them
Zoom out, think big and don’t restrict yourself
Visualise the energy of abundance and let the universe deliver it in the best way for you.

Where attention goes…energy flows

As an example, when you want to create more money energy in your life, don’t restrict yourself to a specific amount. Rather, set the goal for the abundant energy flow of money and let it come to you. Then believe and receive it. On that note, I’ll leave you with this old Cherokee teaching:

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

YES reading Tarot Cards and doing Numerology often gets that reaction out of people! Luckily we are living in an expansive Universe and consciousness is rising above the fear that was created around divination tools that can be of so much use to us in our current lives.

In most people’s minds, “Tarot Card Reading” means a woman in flowing robes, leaning over a small table in a candlelit room, foretelling impending doom….

Tarot Cards have a variety of uses. Tarot Cards first appeared in northern Italy during the 15th century where they were first used for a trick taking card game similar to bridge. Tarot Card games are still played today in continental Europe. After the 18th century, Tarot Cards would more commonly be used as a divination tool.

Tarot Cards can assist you in gaining a deeper spiritual knowing of where you are in the now, for you to make clearer decisions for the future – simply put, you have the power of choice, and the cards can give you insight and a probably future outcome, if you continue on a certain path.

A Tarot Card reading is not meant to be scary or dooming, but should be uplifting and inspiring with maybe warnings of certain patterns and paths that you might need to let go of in order to live the life you were born to live!

I have been fortunate enough to have a firsthand view of the perspective and clarity that “some” people can gain from a reading – and almost how certain “feelings” or knowingness that a person has, becomes clearer and better understood, no doom in fact certainly enlightening…

Clarification and guidance

Sometimes we could all do with confirmation or clarification – to know that we are heading on the right path and if we are making the right choice or not. Looking out for universal signs can help you become aware of outside guidance.

In every moment in time the Universe is whispering to you. There are messages for you carried on the wind. There is wisdom for you in the morning songs of the birds outside your window and in the soft murmurs of an ebbing sea. Even ordinary everyday events in your life carry communications from the realm of spirit!

Right now as you read this, you are surrounded by personal messages from the world around you. Whether you are consciously aware of it or not, you are encircled by signs. Your night hours are filled with signs that carry through into your waking life.

Signs are powerful indicators which can give you understanding about yourself, and insight about your direction in life. They can also reflect what is occurring in your subconscious mind, beneath your conscious awareness.

Signs capture abstractions of the human condition and create a bridge between the realm of spirit and the realm of form, as well as revealing the connection that exists between seemingly diverse objects. They can also reflect our feelings and reveal our fears. They serve as messengers of important information about your present circumstances and even about your future. They also act as reflections of where you are in your life.

Signs can come in various physical forms such as a recurring chest infection. What is the meaning of that? Is there something that you have to get off your chest maybe? Or your car with the “flat” battery ? …. whose battery is actually flat? The key getting stuck in the door – which doors are not opening for you?

Animals very often appear to us as signs: that bee that drives us crazy while we sip our cold drink could actually just be a sign of abundance and fertility, or the butterfly that is in front of you, could show you a period of transformation ahead or the ostrich next to the road, could just mean to stop putting your head in the sand and face the situation head on!

Dreams are a wonderful way for our subconscious mind to ‘clear up’ events in our lives and to give us a portal to future events (and one that’s often overlooked!) There is enough research out there to validate the importance of our dreams.

Sometimes we want to force certain events, but the universe stops us. You may need to go to a certain event but you lose the ticket. Or your card has broken down or you took the wrong path. That’s the universe’s way of showing you that you may not be ‘meant’ to be at that event right now.

So the key to signs is to interpret them in relation to your current life circumstances, while keeping your feet on the ground. But beware – don’t get carried away – sometimes a pig is just a PIG!
